A funny thing happened on the way here…

Have you failed to recognise someone you know well? In Isaiah, God says “can a mother forget her child?”. To which one may add “No, but a Prime Minister has been known to forget his child”. Our Bible passage this morning tells of two people who had a surprising encounter with someone they weren’t expecting. It sets a different tone to the Easter season than the one we have been thinking about so far.
