Church Weekend at Home 2026

On the 9- 11th October we’re having our third “Church Weekend at Home”. It’s a time to enjoy eachother’s company, have some great teaching from Bishop Mike Hill, worship, eat together . . . . also – at the end of the day – to be able to go back to our own beds! We’ve held a couple of these before and they’ve been a great success. It’s for both our church families and will be based at Christ Church.
The weekend will include supper on the Friday evening. On both Saturday and Sunday our time together will start with coffee and pastries. On Saturday morning Mike Hill will be looking at the book of Ephesians with us all (see his strapline above!). We are planning a group for children during part of the morning. Then there will be lunch and after an optional gentle walk. The evening will include a fish and chip supper (or you can order other chip shop alternatives) with music and fun! On the Sunday, there will be a themed service with Mike at Christ Church or a themed service at Emmanuel to finish the weekend. Although it’s wonderful if you can make all the sessions, you don’t have to come to every one.

The cost of the weekend is £30 per adult (children come free) which will include all the food. If you wish to miss the Saturday evening the cost is £22. We’ve kept the price the same as 2 years ago meaning costs will be tight – but if you’d be able to help with the finances including a gift for Bishop Mike then to pay a bit extra would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you’d love to come but are having difficulty finding all the money, do please have a word with Tom.
