The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Over the years we have sent many boxes from Christ Church and Emmanuel and, despite the pandemic, are hoping to participate in 2020 too. From a practical point of view where the current pandemic means we are unable to gather in church as usual, we need to do things slightly differently this year.
There are a number of ways in which you can get involved:
PACK A SHOEBOX YOURSELF Boxes and the leaflets explaining what to do are available in church either on a Sunday or from Phil in the office. If you are isolating at home and unable to come and collect a box please ring the office (01934 641016) and we will arrange for a box to be delivered to you.(and collected once filled).
DONATE ITEMS FOR US TO PUT BOXES TOGETHER Stationary items, small toys, flannels and soap, gloves and hats, cuddly toy, toys etc. Again, if you are unable to bring these to church or the office, please call the office (01934 641016) and we will collect from you.
DONATE TOWARDS THE COST OF A BOX As getting to the shops may prove difficult for a lot of us this year we thought it may be helpful to offer the opportunity to cover the cost of a box which we will then shop for. Details of how to do this are below.
PLEASE PRAY The pandemic restrictions will effect the appeal this year but the need for children across the world to hear of God’s love is as important as ever.

POST / DELIVER A CHEQUE
Cheques made payable to Christ Church PCC can be dropped into, or posted to, Christ Church, 16 Montpelier, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 2RH. Please write ‘SHOEBOX‘ on the back of the cheque.
CASH DROPPED INTO CHURCH
Drop an envelope labelled ‘SHOEBOX‘ into the wall safe in church near the old main door. This will have to be during church office hours.
