Sunday Service 30th January 2022
This week we’re looking at what Jesus means when he says “I am the bread of life”. Bread is such a dayto-day food, so what could he mean by taking something so ordinary as his illustration? In those days bread was the only basic food in that category – there wasn’t potatoes or pasta, for example. So, to survive people needed to eat bread every day. . . it was “ordinary” because it needed eating regularly! So what might Jesus be saying?Well, it would seem to me to be something about engaging with Jesus as part of our daily lives, not just on special occasions. . . and in so doing we can find the “life” that Jesus offers.I wonder, what are the ways in which we can make Jesus part of our daily lives?
