This morning we've got the great joy of seeing Kerry baptised. As with all the baptisms we have in church, we'll hear Tom explain that there's nothing special about the water used. It's a sign of something else: a deeper, spiritual truth.
In Paul's letter to the Colossians, we see that baptism, like circumcision under the Old Covenant, is a sign of God's offer of love and grace. Our response should be one of love and obedience, as we trust in his promises through faith. We "put off" our old sinful self and "put on" clothes of righteousness in our new life with Jesus.
