So far, in our story of King David, things have been going so well. He has truly been “a man after God’s own heart”… that is until it all seems to fall down. In one short chapter of 2 Samuel we find he becomes an adulterer and a murderer. It’s a tough passage to face. The danger is to think that, because we may not have committed a capital offence, this doesn’t apply to us… but, in truth, temptation and sin is a real part of all of our lives.
